I had a fantastic day. I treated the ladies at playgroup with some yummy carrot cake muffins complete with cream cheese icing.
Then after dropping my daughter off to a friends' i went shopping! Just for me!
This is so rare. Usually i wistfully glance at the things i'd love to browse through/try on whilst shopping for the kids. So with birthday money burning my bank account i had a blast! A few tops, pair of boots and some bling later...
I returned home at the same time as hubby. We went cake and wine shopping, rented a dvd then picked up the kids (My fantastic friend had both my kids after school and kindy!).
Oh, i felt so spoilt!

Birthday - and a contest!

It's my birthday in 6 days (June7) and i'm excited!

I always feel like a kid when it's my birthday and i don't care that i'm going to be another day older!
The kids are excited and have been making me cards for a week now - i'm going to have so many lovely things to put away - and i hope i don't have to cook dinner on that day.

Writing related research

I didn't do any writing this morning, but did some just as important research.

It's my birthday on monday, not a big one, i'm only going to be 28 and my husband asked what i wanted. I really want a laptop, but as we recently got a Mac at Christmas i want a Macbook.

So this morning i trotted off to all the stores for some research.

After looking around, i came home and went online and back to the shiny ad on the apple website to the iPad.

I have decided...

I am going to get one of those. Just like Maisey Yates i am telling my husband, as he wants one too, i want an iPad complete with the kayboard, the keyboard dock, iPad dock, case, everything that comes with it!

Of course i won't get it until it comes to NZ, but i don't care.

I'M GETTING AN iPAD FOR MY BIRTHDAY!!!!

Out of Commission

I've been out of commission for the last week, due to a visit from my sister-in-law and the birthday of my little princess.

I've felt quite antsy all week and now that i have life back to normal (ie just hectic kindy runs and playgroup, washing, dishes....etc) i've let my fingers fly on my WIP for the competition and felt the antsy feeling dissipate. Phew!
Now i have the hard job of tightening the chapter, then tackling the synopsis all with an interrupted weekend for my grandfather's funeral.
I've not a nifty little pen drive though, so hopefully i'll be able to use a computer while away to keep writing. I've really felt the lack of it this week. So don't relish having a week without writing again!
